Agricultural Law attorney Joe Hawbaker, with Weston Svoboda, and Dave Goeller, Farm Transition Specialist, and Jessica Groskopf, Extension Educator, with Nebraska Extension will present a 4-hour educational workshops will cover the following:
• Estate and succession planning: considerations, decisions & tools
• Transfer, death and other tax considerations, including portability
• The use of LLCs in farm and ranch succession, including buy-sell agreements and asset protection
• Options, lease rights, preemptive rights
• Finance and management issues in succession planning

Free legal and financial clinics are being offered for farmers and ranchers in July. The clinics are one-on-one meetings with an Ag Law Attorney and an Ag Financial counselor.

These are not group sessions, and they are confidential.  The attorney and financial advisor specialize in legal and financial issues related to farming and ranching, including financial and business planning, transition planning, farm loan programs, debtor/creditor law, debt structure and cash flow, agricultural disaster programs, and other relevant matters.
