Generational Transition Program

Free Legal & Financial Clinics in February

Nebraska Rural Response Hotline

published: Saturday, February 1, 2020

Free legal and financial clinics are being offered for farmers and ranchers. The clinics are one-on-one meetings with an Ag Law Attorney and an Ag Financial counselor.

These are not group sessions and are confidential.  The attorney and financial advisor specialize in legal and financial issues related to farming and ranching, including financial and business planning, transition planning, farm loan programs, debtor/creditor law, debt structure and cash flow, agricultural disaster programs, and other relevant matters.

Here is an opportunity to obtain an independent, outside perspective on issues that may be affecting your farm or ranch.  Bring your questions!

To sign up for a clinic or for more information, call the Rural Response Hotline at 1-800-464-0258.  The Hotline will set up a future location if enough sessions can be filled, so feel free to call ahead.

The FREE farm and ranch clinics are tentatively set for these locations:

Grand Island – Thursday, February 6

Norfolk – Thursday, February 13

North Platte – Thursday, February 13

Valentine – Friday, February 14

Fairbury – Friday, February 21

Norfolk – Tuesday, February 25

(Funding for this work is provided by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, Legal Aid of Nebraska, North Central Extension Risk Management Education Center, the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.)
