Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition Offers Scholarships to Support Generational Transition in Agriculture

Agricultural Law attorney Joe Hawbaker, with Weston Svoboda, and Dave Goeller, Farm Transition Specialist, and Jessica Groskopf, Extension Educator, with Nebraska Extension will present a 4-hour educational workshops will cover the following:
• Estate and succession planning: considerations, decisions & tools
• Transfer, death and other tax considerations, including portability
• The use of LLCs in farm and ranch succession, including buy-sell agreements and asset protection
• Options, lease rights, preemptive rights
• Finance and management issues in succession planning

Transitioning a farming or ranching operation from one generation to the next, or even from one operator to another can be complicated.  The Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC) recently partnered with Nebraska Extension and Legal Aid of Nebraska to host two workshops on this important topic.
