Nebraska Grazing Conference

The 2019 Nebraska Grazing Conference will be held at the Ramada Inn in Kearney, NE on August 12 through 14.  The conference will feature plant identification with Chris Helzer (The Nature Conservancy), rangeland and soil health with Pat Shaver and Dana Larsen, grazinglands management with Virginia Jin, Jerry Volesky, Jeff Bradshaw, Jacob Miller, Martha Mamo, and Andrea Basche, the art and science of winter grazing with John Maddux, Logan Pribbeno, Wayne Eatinger, Jim O’Rourke, and Bruce Anderson, as well as Jack Arterburn and Sarah Sortum covering rangeland resilence. 

Generational Transition Workshop

A generational transition meeting will be held during the Nebraska Grazing Conference in Kearney on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. CT.  Several respected Nebraska ranchers and farmers have agreed to share their experiences with generational transitions at upcoming meetings. Learn from this panel of producers, who have experienced transitions, each in their own way.

What happens if your family’s ranching or farming operation is unable to transfer to the next generation?  Now is the time to start your transition!  A workshop will be held during the Nebraska Grazing Conference to help families navigate the common landmines including legal, financial, and communication issues.  You may attend the workshop on Tuesday evening, even if you are not attending the Grazing Conference.
